With the weather having obviously turned nasty from earlier in the month, it was no surprise that this outing would be remembered for the morning rain. To say you got soaked to the skin is an understatement, but thankfully most people brought a change of clothing. The Roger Martin Trophy was played for in the morning and scores reflected the weather conditions. However some people coped with the conditions better than others, as can be seen by the top five places.
In the afternoon, the weather did relent and even the sun made an appearance. Because there were few members of North Wilts on their course, it was agreed that we would play the Captains Scramble properly for the first time in many years. Three people did not bother in the afternoon, so that left 7 teams of 3 to battle out for the honours. And as can be seen, a score of 62.4 claimed the prize.
Thank you to all the members who decided to make the journey and day a success, even if the weather had other ideas.
